Which classes are offered for ages 4-6?
For 4-6 we offer Ballet Basics, Acro Essentials, Tap/Jazz Combo, and Hip Hop Kids (5-7 years). These programs were carefully selected with young dancers in mind. is there a dress code?
Yes there is a dress code at Pointflex Dance Company. We believe that it is important to enforce a dress code so that the instructors can properly correct dancers to help them to improve. For your convenience, we do sell leotards at the studio. Jewellery is not permitted as it can cause injury and/or can become a distraction for your child. There is no dress code for sessional classes, though we do encourage a bodysuit and tights or t-shirt and shorts for ease of movement.
can my child still join classes if the season has already started?
Yes. Although dance lessons do begin in September, we do continue to accept registrations for recreational classes up until the middle of January.
Can my child skip ballet while learning other dance styles?
Yes. Although ballet is the foundation of all dance forms, in the developmental stream it is not a mandatory class. It is mandatory to participate in ballet if joining our competitive program.
will dancing take away focus from my child's education
No! If anything, it enhances their education. Dance lessons help to teach children better self-discipline, focus and time management.
